Should You Buy 12A 10A or 8A Grade Virgin Hair?
Should You Buy 12A 10A or 8A Grade Virgin Hair?
Why do factories have a hair grading system? And what does it mean? And how can you tell if one hair company has a grade 12A hair is better quality than a company that has 8A or 3A grade hair? Let's cover all those questions and more below.
When Buying Hair with Listed Hair Grades Online
A 12A bundle from company A can be the same quality as a 6A bundle from company B.
Usually, a lot of hair factories that sell hair online, especially when you're buying virgin hair, the hair is broken into different grades such as 3A, 6A, 8A or 12A. They will list the grades usually in the details section on the product page of the hair you are buying. In this case it is very easy to assume that if a company lists their hair as 12A then any other company with a grade number lower, that their hair must be of lower quality. But that isn’t the case. One company doesn’t have lower quality hair because they list the grade of their hair lower than another. A 12A bundle from company A can be the same quality as a 6A bundle from company B.
Companies and factories use completely different grading systems within their company so that is why you can’t compare hair quality from one company to another. Now if you wanted to compare the quality of hair by grade within the company, then that would make more sense. For instance, if company A sells raw, virgin, and remy hair, then they might have a grading system to compare the quality of the hair that they sell. Just remember to always check the details on specific product pages to make sure you are buying the quality of hair you want. Check to see if in the detail section on the product page you are buying from, that the title is listed as "virgin" "remy" "human hair" or "raw" hair, depending on the type of hair you are looking for.
Look for names instead of hair grades
Therefore it is a lot easier to use names in order to differentiate the quality level of hair. At Femi S. Hair we sell raw natural Indian, and virgin Brazilian hair. Raw is our highest quality of hair and the purest. Just by using names it isn’t necessary for a company to use grade numbers. And this is the reason we currently don’t use the grade system here at Femi S. Hair.Â
Is virgin hair the healthiest?
Raw Hair is actually more healthy than virgin hair since raw hair is not processed chemically in any way. But virgin hair is considered healthy as well. Virgin hair doesn't go through a rigorous chemical process or treatment in any way. As a result, it is regarded as a healthy type of hair because it is free of any damage or manipulation caused by chemical treatments such as coloring or relaxing. Virgin hair retains its natural texture and elasticity, making it less susceptible to breakage and damage. It is important to note, however, that hair health is also affected by personal care practices, genetics, and other factors.Â
What is the difference between raw hair, virgin Brazilian hair and Remy hair?
Both raw hair and virgin Brazilian hair are types of human hair that can be used to make hair extensions, wigs, and other hair-related products. There are, however, some significant differences between the two:- Raw hair is hair that has not been processed chemically in any way. It is entirely natural and has not been dyed, permed, or straightened in any way. Because it has not been subjected to any damaging treatments, it is widely regarded as the highest quality type of human hair.
- The term "virgin Brazilian hair" refers to hair that has not been treated with harsh chemicals like remy hair has. Virgin hair usually goes through a steam process and not an acid bath like remy hair. It is usually soft and shiny, with a natural wave or curl pattern. Brazilian hair is well-known for its adaptability, as it can be styled in a variety of ways and is simple to maintain.
- Remy hair is human hair that has been through a more rigorous process compared to virgin hair. Remy hair usually goes through an acid bath, which leads the hair with a weaker cuticle compared to virgin hair. Because of this Remy hair doesn't last as long as virgin hair, but in some cases is still a good choice since it is 100% human hair and can be dyed, and curled because of that.
In summary, raw hair is hair that has not been chemically treated, whereas virgin Brazilian hair is hair that has been through a stream process. Both types of hair are regarded as superior choices for hair extensions and other hair-related products.
How do you know if your hair is from a raw donor?
- Examine the hair color: Raw hair is typically natural in color, ranging from off-black to medium brown. If the hair is a different color, it may have been dyed or chemically treated.
- Examine the hair's texture: Raw hair has a natural texture and may have a slight wave or curl pattern. Chemically treated hair may be excessively straight or have a very defined curl pattern.
